How to earn points and travel practically free!
If I had to guess, you have at least one credit card in your wallet. Am I right? If I am ..keep reading. If I am wrong, you need to get one dedicated card to use to rack up points for free travel!Who has at least one credit card in their wallet right now. I am guessing that is the large majority of you!. Now that we got that out the way, let get to it.
When I went to Amsterdam the first time, It cost me $326 round trip AND my flight home was upgraded to first class. It is possible. There are a few websites I will be compiling for you to follow for great deals on travels domestically and abroad.
Although I travel a TON for work and earn tons of frequent flier miles, I also use my credit card to pay for EVERYTHING. I will make a list of the best card to have in your wallet for earning points for travel.
So the key is CREDIT CARD POINTS! You pay a ton of bills every month, you shop and eat out. All should be paid with your credit card ( and PAID off) in order to earn points for FREE yes FREE travel.
Now before you go off on me about me suggesting you get an additional credit card, hear me out. When you get a credit card and pay for the things you would normally use a debit card for- you are in essence double dipping. You were going to pay your bills anyway, why not earn points and use those points to travel for free.
Why start from scratch when I can guide you in the right direction when I have done most of the research already. This method does require some effort on you part but it is totally worth the effort. The points are compounded when you do pick a favorite airline or hotel chain and are committed to them. You can even earn points by linking accounts to your favorite ride share service. Imagine the possibilities :-)
So to get a big boost the first move is to sign up for mega point bonuses when you are approved for your credit card. Most go something like ‘ Spend $3000 in 90 days for a 60,000 point bonus” That is enough for two round trip tickets depending on where you want to go. Spending $3000 is pretty easy if you charge everything AND PAY IT ALL OFF AT THE END OF THE MONTH TO AVOID INTEREST FEES!
You now have a the bonus and all the points earned. Imagine how many points you will have earned in a year… I can see a free trip in your future!

If you are a frequent Lyft user- You have a chance to double dip. You can now earn points for every dollar you spend with Lyft. You can earn points with Hilton (make sure you have an hilton honors acct) and one Delta mile (make sure you have a skymiles account)
Today- you can earn 3x for every $1 dollar for Hilton on single rides and 2x points for every $1 spent on shared rides!
You now have a the bonus and all the points earned. Imagine how many points you will have earned in a year… I can see a free trip in your future!
